Tresor Club, 1991 - 2005: the undisputed cult home of the techno genre and implicator for the launching of a new musical generation; partly responsible for the reintegration of the younger generation in east and west Berlin. Never has a club carried around so much word-of-mouth propaganda than this decaying, rudimentary bank remnant, creating the framework for unforgettable experiences in musical freedom. The intoxicating dance pleasure is, with its music program, more formative than any other club. Now with its Leipzigerstrasse home base gone with the wrecker ball, only time and the future will dictate the future of the Tresor Club Experience.

Tresor is also the starting point and inspiration for one of the most important international labels existing in Germany, perhaps not always over-prolific in releases but nevertheless stylistically impressive in its uncompromising significance in the world of electronic music.

Hardly a famous techno artist or DJ has not played in Tresor Club since its screeching birth from the dungeons in 1991. For a personal tribute to Tresor Club, we have approached many of these artists, Tresor residents and prominent figures in the international electronic dance music scene, to ask them about their memories, feelings and comments concerning the passing of a legendary techno dwelling.
